Kathleen Conover takes advantage of the harsh, cold winters of Michigan's Upper Peninsula for an innovative approach to vibrantly colored and intricately patterned paintings of nature. Through a successful integration of watermedia, technique and conceptual content, she creates beautiful abstract expressions. When conditions are right, pigment and water are combined on paper and placed outdoors in sub-freezing temperatures. Nature freezes the pigment and Kathleen catches the elusive ice crystals. She then designs and develops her own interpretations of nature.
