Kathleen Conover takes advantage of the harsh, cold winters of Michigan's Upper Peninsula for an innovative approach to vibrantly colored and intricately patterned paintings of nature. Through a successful integration of watermedia, technique and conceptual content, she creates beautiful abstract expressions. When conditions are right, pigment and water are combined on paper and placed outdoors in sub-freezing temperatures. Nature freezes the pigment and Kathleen catches the elusive ice crystals. She then designs and develops her own interpretations of nature. Each unique "Frozen Crystals" painting in this series is available for order in limited edition prints and artist proofs.
