"The Industrial Evolution" series is about the changes America is undergoing in its struggling technological and manufacturing industries. These works of art are inspired by travels throughout the U.S., but, most specifically, by the Marquette, Michigan iron ore docks. There is something very captivating about their size, history and importance to our country's steel and manufacturing industries. They are majestic symbols of this nation's era of world leadership and a reminder of an era of change. Included in each painting is the raven, observing. Like us, a creature of great adaptability, creativity and survival intelligence, the raven is figuring out its next move in the evolution of survival.
"The Journey" is an ongoing body of work about the transitions and changes through life's journey. Although these works are inspired introspectively the concepts are surprisingly universal; the ageless desire to soar like a bird, the challenge of transending earthly limitations, to see the beauty in flawed humanity and the general pursuit of spiritual enrichment. The strong warrior horses in this series refer to perserverance in the journey as it takes us to a "gentle place of acceptance".
